OCZ Z-Drive – Releases Up to 16TB PCI Express SSD – CES 2012

OCZ has officially released 3 models of SSD : PCI-E models Z-Drive R5, Z-Drive R4 and the Chiron (SATA model)

  1. OCZ Z-Drive R5  Technology CES2012Z-Drive R5 is limited to 12TB, and does feature the Kilimajaro - the fifth generation Z-Drive ( OCZ platform and Marvell ). The press release mentioned 2.52 million IOPS and 7.2GB/s sequential transfers per card and the bandwidth of up to 16 GB/s ( via PCI Express 3.0 x16 )
  2. Z-Drive R4 CloudServ RM1616 has only (6.5GB/s), and storage space up to 16TB.
  3. Chiron SATA SSD, with 4TB capacity (largest among all SATA NAND Flash unit solid state drives ), and over 560 MB/s data rates.

Note: no mention of prices and availability, but OCZ intends to ship all three models this year!
